Jesus said in Matthew 19:14 "but Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven.” Our desire at Cornerstone is to have a Gospel-centered, Christ-exalting children's ministry. Our belief is that the church is not the primary disciples of children, but rather the parents. Therefore, our children's ministry is very intentional on equipping our parents as well as our children. We encourage all parents to be involved in our ministries. We have several opportunities for our children to grow in their faith - we hope that you will find the following opportunities to be helpful and supplemental to your family as you seek to raise up your children in Christ.
Sunday mornings we have classes based on age for all of our children. The material we use is called "The Gospel Project." The Gospel Project exists to point kids, students, and adults to the gospel of Jesus Christ through weekly group Bible studies and additional resources that show how God’s plan of redemption unfolds throughout Scripture and still today, compelling them to join the mission of God. This study shows Christ in every story and text in the Bible. These classes meet Sunday morning @ 9:30am.
We also offer a study for children during the sermon portion of our Sunday morning service. The children start in the sanctuary and worship together with the congregation and then have the option of attending Children's worship following the offering. We firmly believe that the body and gathering on Sunday mornings should include people of all ages. We believe there is too much age segregation in the church and therefore we encourage families to have at least one gathering during the week where they stay together. However, we do understand the importance of children learning truths that can be taught and applied in an easier way. Therefore, we offer children's worship for preschool through grade 3. This is a second hour of the Gospel Project that builds off of what they learned at the 9:30 hour.
